Meet Instructor Kathy

I strongly believe in the Second Amendment and in responsible citizens' right to safely and confidently keep and bear arms. Just as importantly, I believe in education, safety, and empowering men and women through proper training. 

Learning to handle a handgun safely and confidently starts with a solid foundation. Understanding firearm safety, proper handling, and fundamental shooting skills is essential for every responsible firearm owner, regardless of experience level.

From understanding how a handgun operates to developing proper grip, stance, sight alignment, and trigger control, mastering the fundamentals builds the skills necessary for safe and consistent shooting. Strong fundamentals not only improve proficiency—they promote sound decision-making, reinforce safe habits, and support responsible firearm ownership.

My Christian faith guides my commitment to integrity, service, compassion, and responsible firearm ownership. My goal is to create a supportive, professional learning environment where students can build knowledge, develop practical skills, and gain confidence through quality instruction and hands-on practice.

Over the years, I’ve met a lot of people who want to learn how to safely handle a handgun and take control of their personal safety, but feel intimidated, uncertain, or even fearful around firearms. Those feelings are completely normal — and they’re exactly why quality instruction and a supportive learning environment matter.

That’s where I come in... 

With more than 15 years of experience as an educator and school counselor, I bring a strong background in teaching and mentoring to my role as a Certified Firearms Instructor. My goal is to provide practical, safety-focused training that helps students build knowledge, confidence, and responsible firearm skills.

Whether you are new to firearms, refreshing your skills, or continuing your training, learning the fundamentals is an important first step toward becoming a safe, confident, and responsible handgun owner. I believe quality training should be clear, supportive, and focused on helping each student learn at their own pace.
